A Warning About Billing Practices at Dental Care Olathe
I am writing this review to caution others about the billing and administrative practices at this clinic.
During a recent visit, I was charged $718 out-of-pocket at the time of my service. I was told my insurance would only cover 50% of the cost.
However, when I later reviewed my official Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance company, it clearly stated they had paid 100% of the claim and my patient responsibility was $0.00. This meant the clinic had overcharged me by the full $718.
I returned to Dental Care Olathe with my EOB as proof. Their initial response was that they had "not yet received the payment" from my insurance.
I then contacted my insurance provider directly. They confirmed they had already paid the clinic 100% of the claim. My insurer reached out to the clinic's office manager, who confirmed they had received full payment and should not have charged me. The manager committed to issuing me a refund.
It has now been over a month since that confirmation, and I have not received my refund. My insurance company has tried to follow up on my behalf but has been unable to get a response—either calls go unanswered or the manager is reportedly unavailable.
Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this clinic. I urge potential patients to be extremely cautious:
1. Always review your EOB from your insurance company before paying large out-of-pocket sums.
2. Verify all charges directly with your insurer.
3. Be aware that their billing department appears to be either profoundly disorganized or engaging in deceitful practices.

First I was pressured into spending $139.00 for some kind of discount subscription. Then I was taken back where there was no privacy just a bunch of chairs in the open room. The girl who did my X-rays was amazing though. After sitting for a while the I was told it would be over $300 per tooth to be pulled. That seems very high for two simple extractions. But since I was in pain and they had me in the chair what could I do other then agree. So the dentist spoke kinda to me he was hard to understand, I was told I have five teeth that needed removed but at that price I could only afford to have two done at this time. So he numbed my mouth and started to work. It was not the best experience, there was a women in the next chair who already had anxiety from even having to some to the dentist and seeing how they were working like they were trying to save my did not help her. They even dropped one of the extracted teeth in the floor right next to my partners foot. After they were done it was a slurry of instructions to which I did not receive a copy of, and to top it all off I gave them clear and concise instructions to which pharmacy to send the antibiotics to. That was Saturday this is now Wednesday I have made several attempts to get ahold of them to ask about having these antibiotics they were so adamant about me taking I have yet to receive any kind of response. I would not recommend this particular place to anyone.

I love this place. They make me feel like a person; not someone just in a chair getting dental work done...I've got a lot of work to be done and they are working with me every step of the way....

My wife Nancy went recently to have her wisdom teeth pulled and she was very satisfied about how fast it was. I have been there myself a few times to have my teeth cleaned. I haven't had any complaints. I would definitely recommend Dr. Warya to other people.

I had to have three root canals with crowns. Dulce and Dr. Warya were great. I was in and out within 2 1/2 hours. I’ll definitely be returning.

Amazing. They don't take no for an answer through your insurance. They go that extra mile for sure.. I went from the worst time in my life andow low self esteem to being able to see a little bit of light at the end of my tunnel now.

Best. Dentist. Experience. The whole office is amazing! Kyle the office manager is so friendly and puts you at ease. He's a wonderful "face" for the office. Corrie (Kory?) I'm so sorry if I misspelled your name, she is amazingly talented, patient, and so sweet. She always made sure I was okay. Dr. Ewing is such a great dentist. So smart but explains things so I could understand. I never felt judged for my poor choices with dental care and now I know changes to make. Dr. Ewing was able to refer me to a specialist for TMJ which was a huge relief. I've been told I have it but never what to do, if anything. This is my dentist office now. I will refer all my friends and family.

Dr. Ewing is amazing, very gentle and pleasant interaction with patients. All of the staff from front to back are friendly, listen and help get you the right treatment plan!
